Christ Church Detroit

Christ Church Detroit thrilled us with the variety of glass windows. From the simple windows of the original chapel to the Resurrection Angel created by Tiffany, we found so many different styles and types of windows. Each window has a special story, like those in the baptistery that depict the faces of Lyster family that gave the window. The windows in the balcony were relatively recent gift to the church (1999), depicting creation, the Garden of Eden and other scenes in such vivid colors. The architect was Arthur Gordon Lloyd who created this "American Gothic" design in 1860. There are still wonderful things happening in this church after all these years!
