The Colony - Clay Township
The Colony Water Tower was built in 1925 as the main water supply for "The Colony on the Ste. Claire", a secluded residential community. The 136 foot water tower once housed a 60,000 gallon water tank and was constructed to look like a light house. It did have a light at the top of the tower for some time to aid in water and air navigation. If was extinguished in 1937 due to its high operating costs.
