Charlevoix Drawbridge
This is Charlevoix's drawbridge over the Pine River Channel which connects Round Lake and Lake Charlevoix to Lake Michigan. In the summertime it opens on the hour and half hour with much clanging of bells to let the boats through. The Charlevoix Historical Society says that a bridge here defines their character and they've always had one since the 1860's. Michigan artist, Jeremy Eden, has done a beautiful watercolor of the open bridge.
