Pentwater's River House Farm Barn
We celebrate one of Michigan's oldest barns built 150 years ago called the River House in Pentwater. It was built in 1862, in the middle of the Civil War, by lumberman Charles Mears. After the trees were cut down and made into lumber, Charles planted peach, plum, pear and apple trees. The Pentwater Historical Society is overseeing the restoration of this important piece of history located on business route US 31, on part of the Pentwater River State Game Area.
