Penobscot Building in Detroit
One of Detroit's most recognizable skyscrapers is the Penobscot Building on Griswold with its glowing red neon ball at the top. This 47 story structure was named after the Penobscot Indians of Maine. The architect, Wirt Rowland, also designed the Guardian Building. It was the tallest building in the US outside of NYC and Chicago in the 1920's. Corrado Parducci did much of the architectural sculptures on the building like in Midland.
