Oak Hill Cemetery in Pontiac
Pontiac's Oak Hill Cemetery dates back to the early 1800's and sits at the highest point in the area. It's like walking through history with graves of heroes from the American Revolution and the Civil War. The photo is of the Buckland Memorial Chapel, built in 1898 by the grandson of Col Stephen Mack, the founder of Pontiac and the man who donated the land for the cemetery. It is built of Berea sandstone. It was lovingly restored by volunteers from Pontiac.

Actually, the chapel was built by the widow of Col. Mack's grandson, Mrs. Sarah A. Buckland.
