Fallasburg One Room School House
To celebrate the official back-to-school day for children, we found the Fallasburg one room school house covered in its traditional clapboard in what is now Lowell Michigan. That is a belfry on top. It was built in 1867 on land donated by John Wesley Fallass. Today, it is used as a museum, housing all kinds of interesting artifacts. May the 2013-14 school year be blessed for children, parents and teachers!

did you take pictures of the covered bridge?
ReplyDeleteYes we did--3 years ago. Hard to believe it's been that long http://michigan1001dailyphoto.blogspot.com/2010/08/lowells-covered-bridge.html
DeleteFairly close by there used to be Whites Bridge and one in Ada. Whites Bridge burned down a couple months ago. The Ada bridge is still there. There is also a covered bridge about 30 miles southeast of K'zoo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about Whites Bridge. I haven't found the Ada Bridge yet. So much to see in our state!!!
DeleteThe Ada Bridge is in a park there. Pretty well maintained park to boot. The bridge itself is only open to foot traffic now.
