Zilwaukee Bridge

The Zilwaukee Bridge, part of I-75 situated 5 miles north of Saginaw, was opened in 1988 after years of construction.  It is 125 feet high and spans the Saginaw River, replacing a bascule drawbridge that used to cause massive backups on the highway. Owned by MDOT (Michigan Department of Transportation), it cost more than $100 million dollars to build.  They were plagued with building problems, but no lives were lost. Nowadays, people just zoom over it without a thought.
