Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Pub in Frankenmuth

It's Oktoberfest and there is no better place to celebrate that in Michigan than in Frankenmuth. At Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus and Grill on Weiss Street you will find excellent beer brewed in house and their famous fish and chips which they have been serving for more than 65 years. Many people feel they have the best beer in town. They do a lot of weddings and banquets here also as they are well equipped to handle large groups.

Liberty Street Brewery in Plymouth

Liberty Street is a great brew pub located in the historical district of Plymouth. They have a huge upstairs as well where live entertainment takes place on the weekends, like Four Block Empire this past Saturday. Lots of aficionados at the bar claimed that all the beers are fabulous.  We liked the Pub House Brown for sure.  Joe and Jim are in their fourth year of brewing and soon you will see Liberty Street in the stores and at other places that serve beer as they are about to embark upon distribution!

Saugatuck Brewing Company

The Saugatuck Brewing Company is really located in Douglas, just across the bridge from Saugatuck.  They have only been in existence 7 years, but the locals love their beer. They named one Singapore IPA, after the sawmill town that used to exist at the mouth of the Kalamazoo River that was reclaimed by the sand dunes. Other notables are their Raspberry Wheat, the Pier Cove Porter and the Oval Beach Blonde. The Lucky Stone Pub was very busy this past weekend with some great appetizers to go with their wide assortment of beers. For tasting purposes, you can order a flight of 6 beers of your choice for $12.00 served up by a knowledgeable and friendly wait staff.
