Birmingham's Frank Street Bakery
Don't expect racks of bread upon entering Frank Street Bakery in Birmingham. They do make everything from scratch and offer a variety of homemade soups and sandwiches and several vegetarian/vegan options and locally made Ray's Ice Cream. We enjoyed the al fresco dining and our gazpacho and spinach quiche. A local favorite, too, is their hot pressed cuban sandwich. This café is a perfect lunch time spot.

TLC: The Lunch Café in Berkley
The locals in Berkley steered us towards TLC on 12 Mile where the vittles are superb and the décor quite humorous. The Lunch Café makes everything from scratch and the proof is in the tasting. The tortilla soup was excellent as well as the panini sandwiches and salad with plump cherries, walnuts and crumbled blue cheese. Our favorite sign was "Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Look who's here!" Our server, Angela, quite charmed the socks off of us.

The Raven Cafe in Port Huron
The Raven Café in downtown Port Huron provides an atmosphere similar to those found in New York City's Greenwich Village. A raven hangs over the door to welcome you to this unique restaurant in an historic building. The interior design includes books, stained glass, lots of wood accents, tiffany lighting and many cozy areas to enjoy live music, great food, beer, wine and cocktails along with expresso and specialty coffees and teas. You must visit this cultural mecca when in the Port Huron area--right on Military Street close to the Black River here.
