2 Lads Winery on Old Mission Peninsula

We stumbled upon a Michigan winery that we'd never heard of called 2 Lads on Old Mission Peninsula.  We were very very impressed with the quality of the wines and the beautiful views. If you are short on time they have a tasting room, but for the full effect, catch a tour where you can experience the vineyard, the cellar and partake of a food and wine pairing. The two lads who own the property are Chris Baldyga from Traverse City area and Cornell Oliver from South Africa. They make a superb team.

Honeyflow Farm in Dryden

Michigan may experience more than its share of dark and dreary days, but we have learned to make our own sunshine. The Honeyflow Farm in Dryden raises bees and sells their own honey and pure natural beeswax candles (with 100 styles to choose from). It is also the largest producer of grapes in Southeast Michigan. People buy them to make their own jelly, juice and wine. Some buy the honey to make mead! We purchased their candles on-line, but they gave us the option of saving shipping by picking it up at the farm. We couldn't resist taking a peek yesterday!

Tabor Hill Winery and Restaurant

It was a supreme treat to dine at the Tabor Hill Vineyards and Restaurant in Buchanan last week, just a few miles from Lake Michigan. Both the food and the gold-medal winning wines were absolutely scintillating! They have been here since 1968. Just for fun, we made a one minute movie of our visit: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQwUH2n5E_U

Their website is chock full of photos and information: www.taborhill.com
