Jaqueline Gilmore Michigan Artist
Michigan has quite a fascinating artist in Jacqueline Gilmore who studied in London, NYC and Italy and then received her degree from the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids. We were intrigued with her See the Forest Through the Trees oil painting when it was exhibited at Grand Rapids Art Prize. It is 18 feet long and 9 fight high! It feels as if we could just stroll right into those trees. Gilmore resides in Rockford, just north of Grand Rapids.

Rochester's Upside Down Artist Doug West
You just never know who you are going to meet at a garage sale. In this case, it was Doug West, Michigan's Upside Down Artist who just happened to have this intricate masterpiece hanging on a wall near the cars in his Rochester Hills home. What a conversation piece. He likes to paint with the images upside down to help him see details more clearly. Doug entered this painting in Grand Rapid's Art Prize and the funny thing is--we took a photo of this very painting in the Bob last year. If you click here and scroll down to the last page, there you can see and read about him in Detroit's Premier Business Journal. Wishing you much success, Doug, in your future endeavors!
